Is This Ray Liotta's Creepiest Role Yet?

$

0

Ray Liotta has had some super spooky roles in his career, but his guest spot on this week's "NTSF:SD:SUV::" on Adult Swim might just be the creepiest.

We've got an exclusive sneak peek at Liotta in the season finale of "NTSF," titled "Wasilla Hills Cop" (Thurs., Nov. 1, 12:15 a.m. on Adult Swim), which finds Alphonse (Brandon Johnson) going back home to Alaska to find out who murdered his former partner and to make amends with his father, who disowned him for using a cell phone.

The episode guest stars Liotta as mail room guy Jason and "Parks and Recreation" funny lady Aubrey Plaza as The Rememberer. In our sneak peek, above, you can see Jason (Liotta) harassing Sam (Martin Starr) about becoming an NTSF agent. Why? Because he believes he was trained as a government assassin in 2006, a year he can't remember at all. Watch to see some of his assassin moves -- and his overly expressive eyebrows -- in action.

Everyone's favorite tear-jerking author is heading to TV.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nicholas Sparks and his literary agent Theresa Park will act as executive producers for TNT's "Bend In The Road," ABC Family's "The Falls" and Lifetime's "Deliverance Creek."

"Bend In The Road" centers on a sheriff managing life in a coastal Georgia town, while "The Falls" is a modern-day "Romeo And Juliet" tale.

Sparks has seen several successful novel adaptations in film form including "The Notebook," "A Walk To Remember," "Dear John," "The Last Song" and more.

While Sparks told THR that writing novels was his first priority, he's excited to explore the TV world. “It's a chance to venture into stories I don't always write about,” he said.

Matthew McConaughey's Body Transformation

Happy Birthday, Matthew McConaughey!

The handsome hunk turns 43 today (can you believe it?) and we wanted to pay tribute to his special day by showcasing his incredible body transformation. Not only has the actor buffed up over the years, but recently he has shed more than 30 pounds for his role in "The Dallas Buyer's Club."

“I'm playing a guy who was sick and would have loved to have been healthier but wasn't. For me, it's more of a mental thing than a physical thing,” McConaughey shared with Us Weekly. “I'll get down to the weight I need to get to. I'm on my way, and it's what I need to do for the job.”

His slim look is a far cry from the actor's normally muscled-up physique, which McConaughey has taken pride in for the past decade. We're sure as soon as shooting ends, he'll bulk up once again and give us some more of those shirtless moments we've been missing.

Check out photos of McConaughey's body transformation below:

'I'm Mitt Romney, And I'm Still Running For President'

Fun fact: Mitt Romney is technically still a presidential candidate.

It may be hard to believe, but it's true. On Tuesday, American citizens will have the ability to vote for Mitt Romney for president, even if the election has taken the backburner to Hurricane Sandy in the last week's media coverage.

Although the election draws near, "SNL" had a conspicuous lack of political comedy on last night's episode, which was hosted by Louis C.K. Jay Pharoah did not portray President Obama, and Jason Sudeikis only played Romney in this Weekend Update sketch.

If Romney loses, could this sketch be the last we see of Jason Sudeikis? The veteran "SNL" player nearly left the show at the end of last season, and It's been speculated that he only stuck around to play Romney. With a Romney loss, Sudeikis' departure from the "SNL" cast could be imminent.

Are Brittany & Sam Getting Married On 'Glee'?

Do you hear the wedding bells? Well, Ryan Murphy does.

The "Glee" creator revealed that two major characters are walking down the aisle this season -- and it's not who you'd expect!

"The Wedding Of The Year," Murphy tweeted, posting a picture of Brittany (Heather Morris) and Sam (Chord Overstreet) swapping vows.

But is this really a spoiler alert?

According to TVGuide.com, Murphy previously said that the wedding would take place on the Valentine's Day episode, and the cast and crew are currently shooting the Christmas episode. Plus, would Brittany and Sam really tie the knot in the McKinley High bathroom/locker room? (We'd hope not).

So, do you think Brittany and Sam get hitched, or is Murphy trying to throw us off? We'll have to wait and see ...

Kristen Stewart And Robert Pattinson's Night Out

She may have been solo as she walked the red carpet at the premiere of "On the Road" last night, but Kristen Stewart was anything but alone at the film's after party.

Stewart, 22, was not only joined by her fellow cast members, but the actress was spotted cozying up to her on-again beau, Robert Pattinson, 26, who attended the Nov. 3 bash. The "Twilight" co-stars eyed each other all night as they mingled with friends and sipped on cocktails.

According to E! News, the couple hung out on the Garden Terrace at the Audi-sponsored event, which was held at the Roosevelt Hotel across the street from Grauman's Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, Calif., where the screening took place. And although they didn't pack on the PDA, Stewart and Pattinson shared plenty of sweet moments before leaving together at around 1 a.m.

As Stewart chatted with her co-star Amy Adams, Pattinson talked with a male pal while puffing away on an electronic cigarette.

E! News reports:

A bit after midnight, Kristen was dancing and Rob made his way back to her. They spoke energetically and were playful, with Rob jokingly showing some dance moves of his own. As for PDA, she patted his chest a few times as they talked and rubbed his head at one point. He whispered in her ear and put his arm around her for a moment. Just before 1 a.m, Rob looked like he tried to rally some people to leave and a few minutes later Kristen followed after him.

Stewart rocked a Balenciaga bra-top on the red carpet before changing into a leather bomber and black tank top as Pattinson sported a black jacket and jeans. The pair are gearing up to promote "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" this week.

Dallas Rivalry Continues With Jesse Metcalfe And Josh Henderson

'Dallas' has returned to our screens, and it's like it's never been away. Bobby and JR Ewing are both still proving that some things do run thicker than blood - ie oil, and the money it brings. And their sibling rivalry has been passed seamlessly to the next generation with their sons - Christopher and John Ross respectively - fighting for the future of Southfork Ranch, not to mention the love they share for one girl.

Jesse Metcalfe and Josh Henderson - it's a close-run thing

Jesse Metcalfe and Josh Henderson were plucked from other dramas to pick up their stetsons and play Christopher and John Ross. Metcalfe swotted up watching 33 episodes from the first series, while Henderson caught up with old JR clips on YouTube "to discover how he made him so magnetic". And the pair were used to competing against each other for auditions (as well as in a charity league away from work), so their rivalry came naturally.

  • Over 21 million in UK tuned in to find out "Who Shot JR"
  • 22 years later, just 3.3 million more watched London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony (24.3m)!!
  • Larry Hagman is the only actor to appear in all 357 episodes of the original series
  • A total of 350 million people in 57 countries watched this episode
  • It Is One Of The Top ten TV moments of all time alongside UK moon landings
  • The show's popularity spawned the birth of the first ever 'super soap'
  • 'Dallas' has been dubbed into 67 languages and has been aired in more than 90 countries.
  • Dallas-mania was so big in the eighties, that Dallas Quest, a computer game based on the series was released to keep fans entertained between episodes
  • UK television executives voted 'Dallas' one of the best all-time imports from the US in a 2004 Broadcast magazine survey.
  • 'Dallas' has been nominated for 79 TV awards in total, and taken home the prize for 40.

But who gets your vote? Josh Henderson's a Texan native, so that must get points, but Metcalfe's Christopher is striving for renewable energy, so that must put him on the side of the angels. And he's got his demons, secretly pining for a woman who's not his wife, not something Bobby would approve of.

MORE: 9 Reasons Why The Original 'Dallas' Was The Best Thing On TV

The spirit level of their rival jaw-lines can't be split, so... the jury's still out. We'll just have to wait for another series, to see who comes out on top. Pictures of them both below to help you decide...

'Who The (Bleep) Did I Marry?': 'Ether Man' Rapist

On "Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry?," Joylynn Martinez thought she was married to a regular guy named Robert Bruce. But after his arrest, she found out her husband was leading a double life -- he was actually a rapist who'd been committing assaults for 20 years.

Dubbed Ether Man Bruce confessed to more than 30 assaults in various states across the US. Bruce was given the moniker because he used rags soaked in chemicals to incapacitate his victims.

Those who knew him were shocked. "I basically just shut down," Martinez said of the stunning revelation. "I couldn't believe I knew this man for this many years and he was capable of what he had done. It's just mind boggling to me."

On November 16, 2012, Bruce pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 156 years in prison. He is reportedly already serving a 64-year sentenced for another crime -- "attempting to blow up a police officer's home."

She's Back! Courtney Stodden Returns To 'Couples Therapy'

Can't imagine the current season of "Couples Therapy" without Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchison? The couple was thrown out of therapy during last week's episode because Courtney refused to wear more appropriate clothing.

It turns out they were only gone for a single day. Apparently, this was to teach Courtney about consequences and boundaries. As Dr. Jenn Bermann explained on VH1's blog, "I think that Courtney hadn't fully thought out the repercussions of her actions … Courtney is not used to people actually enforcing the rules with her."

During the episode, Courtney tweeted, "Dr. Jenn handled the situation tonight impeccably as a therapist & a human being with a heart." With such a thoughtful response, perhaps the Courtney that appears throughout the rest of the series will be one who's more engaged in the process, and more introspective.

Or maybe not. You'll have to tune in to "Couples Therapy" on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on VH1 to find out which version of Courtney Stodden came back.

Demi Lovato: Britney Spears Is 'Actually Really Quirky'

Demi Lovato and Britney Spears sit together at the "X Factor" judges' table, but we imagine it might be somewhat daunting for the 20-year-old "Give Your Heart a Break" singer to compete with her childhood idol.

Lovato recently revealed at the MTV Video Music Awards that the first album she ever got was a Spears release.

But at a party for Season 2 finalists this week, Lovato told People magazine that Britney is "really cool to hang out with."

"What surprised me the most about Britney is that she's actually really quirky," she continued. "You kind of expect a legendary pop star [to] sometimes [be], like, a diva or something, but she's really not. She's a sweet, down-to-earth, Southern girl."

And Spears, 30, has said that she values Lovato's opinions. "She toughens me up!" Spears told TV Guide in August. "Sometimes I listen to [her] and I'm like, 'Oh, God, I've got be a little stronger.'"

In fact, we might even see a future duet between the two pop stars. In a recent interview with PopSugar, Lovato said that she "would love" to record a song with Spears. However, we admit the potential collaboration we're most excited about involves Spears, a tiger, an elephant and Mario Lopez as a backup dancer.

TV REVIEW: Was It Worth Making 'Secret State'?

$

Right from the apocalyptic opening sequence, we knew what waters this boat 'Secret State' was heading, straight into the seas of all those other elliptical political thrillers - 'State Of Play', 'House of Cards', 'Heart of Darkness', something of something else.

secret state
Deputy Prime Minister Tom Dawkins (Gabriel Byrne) is a man with a lot on his mind

As the Deputy Prime Minister, Gabriel Byrne was a man with a lot on his mind - capably portraying existential guilt ("you're thinking about Bosnia, you did the right thing"), the ambition ("what if I stand?") and fear of a deputy prime minister who can see that the disappearance of his boss carries with it opportunity, but also the burden of too many secrets. Hopes for a residence at Number 10 loom, but in the meantime, he had to clean up the mess of a gigantic explosion in a Teesside factory, owned by a US petrochemical firm with whom he has some spurious tie - made messier by the apparent suicide of a very anxious pathologist.

secret state
Secret State is another adaptation of the novel 'A Very British Coup'

As you may be able to tell, this was the kind of plot pollen around which TV scheduling executives buzz happily, and it really did split the atom between the ones that have gone before. It was as though they had political thriller cue cards, threw them up in the air and agreed to write the script according to whatever order they came down in.

When Chris Mullin's novel on which it is based, 'A Very British Coup', was first adapted for TV in 1988, it was industrial, gritty, with a properly looming sense of apocalypse, that the democratic ties binding the social fabric of the country were in danger of unravelling, that we were just one false move away from disenchantment and anarchy. Fires literally burnt in the distance. And in Ray McAnally's central character of Harry Perkins, we had a heavyweight protagonist who carried the world on his shoulders. Watching last night's debute episode of 'Secret State' made me wish I had the original version on DVD to experience again.

In contrast with the steely McAnally, while Byrne equally carried such gravitas, he also conveyed - inevitable perhaps for a TV lead these days - the slightly cosmetic smoothness of the Hollywood A-lister he has been for a long time, with no sign of the revolutionary zeal in his eyes we used to see in films like 'Defence of the Realm'. Where is his fire? His individuality? His Irishness would have been nice.

It all felt a bit delibeately tailored for an international audience. (Which is paradoxical, because the defiantly northern original TV series won Emmy Awards and was shipped to dozens of countries, and parochiality hasn't done Nordic Noir any harm.)

Fortunately, the presence of Rupert Graves, Charles Dance and Sylvestra le Touzel, as an against-type potty-mouthed Foreign Secretary, kept the drama on solid London ground, even if the shots of the Thames, the Commons, did feel, again, deliberate. And it wouldn't be a gritty political drama without Gina McKee wandering around, narrow-eyed, pale and knowing.

secret state
Gina McKee - cast very much to type

Perhaps 'Secret State' is just at the mercy of the influence of all the political drama that has entered our psyche in the intervening period - 'State of Play', 'Spooks' and, if you want to chuck in some subtitles, 'Borgen'. Which in turn all tell us something about the society they portray.

Tom Dawkins and his cronies are far more concerned with how things will play out with the baying media than they are with the internal dilemmas that were McAnally's domain. This shift of burden and priority could prove to be the biggest change of all to our culture over the last two decades of power-wrangling, in which case holding up a mirror to the shifting consciousness is by no means unimportant. And a political thriller is never a bad thing. I'll keep watching.

Miley Cyrus: 'My Wedding Has To Be Perfect'

$

Miley Cyrus wants you to know she's NOT having three weddings (sorry, Billy Ray).

Actually, she plans on having just one ... and there's no doubt in her mind it will be perfect.

"This is the one day that it's what I choose and every detail is things that I love," the 19-year-old star told Ellen DeGeneres, who even surprised Cyrus with two strippers as an early bachelorette party present during her show, airing today (Nov. 8).

"There is some rumor going around that I'm having, like, 47 weddings," Cyrus added. "I'm not. I'm having one wedding. That's my day and whatever I want on that day will be about me and that moment. That look of love."

Don't worry though, Cyrus is not forgetting about her groom, Liam Hemsworth, who will play a huge part in making her dreams come true.

"That moment when he first gets to see me in my dress and everything all together," she continued, complimenting DeGeneres' nuptials and the way she looked at her wife Portia de Rossi during their ceremony.

"It has to be perfect. It has to be like a soundtrack in a movie," Cyrus added. "That's the one day where that movie crap is real. That romance. That look is the time that you get that ... I've been to probably 10, 20 weddings and I've seen that real look five or six times. It's rare that people just stop to really look the person in the eye and know that this is your life together."

"It's important and your wedding was perfect with that look," Cyrus gushed to DeGeneres. "That's why I always fight for whoever wants to get married can get married. Because that look doesn't come with gender."

So, will Cyrus be walking down the aisle anytime soon?

"I'm, like, so focused on my record," the singer, who's releasing her new album early next year, said. "I kind of don't want to be in between touring and trying to plan all that -- because I didn't really realize until I got a wedding planning book what you have to decide on."

"Like, I don't care what color the napkins are, to be honest. I really don't care!" she added, laughing. "So, it's a lot of weird detail. I don't want to be doing too much and be crazy and forget about the moment of it all."

'The Kennedys' Getting A Sequel?

"The Kennedys," the controversial miniseries starring Katie Holmes and Greg Kinnear that bounced from History Channel to ReelzChannel, could be getting a sequel. According to Deadline.com, Reelz and Canadian producer Muse Entertainment are looking at an eight-episode follow-up based on "After Camelot," the 2012 book by J. Randy Taraborrelli.

The sequel would pick up where the 2011 miniseries ended: the 1968 assassination of Robert F. Kennedy. The book follows what happened to the Kennedys following the deaths of the family's two murdered sons. Deadline.com reports no writer is attached to the project yet and original "Kennedys" producers Joel Surnow and Asylum Entertainment are not involved with the sequel.

"The Kennedys" was set to air on the History Channel in 2011, but the network announced it was dropping the project amid criticism that it was not historically accurate.

"Upon completion of the production of 'The Kennedys,' History has decided not to air the 8-part miniseries," a rep for the network said in a statement in January 2011. "After viewing the final product in its totality, we have concluded that although the film is produced and acted with the highest quality auspices, the dramatic license the series takes is not suitable for the History brand."

Rumors swirled about where the project would end up, with networks like FX, Starz and Showtime reportedly in the running to scoop up the series. Eventually it landed on ReelzChannel and debuted in April 2011. The miniseries broke ratings records for Reelz -- depending on who you ask the premiere had 1.3 million viewers or 1.9 million -- and netted Barry Pepper an Emmy award for his portrayal of Robert F. Kennedy.

'Breaking Bad' Gets Porn Parody

Move over, Jesse: Walter White's got his eye on the prize!

If you're getting bored with the same old meth storyline on AMC's "Breaking Bad," worry not. A porn parody titled "Breaking Bad XXX" is in the works.

In the parody, California passes a law making porn illegal -- and Walter White makes it his personal mission to legalize it. But instead of enlisting the help of Jesse Pinkman, Walt turns to a former film student and current porn star.

Check out the trailer for "Breaking Bad XXX" below.

This is hardly the first time "Breaking Bad" has been spoofed ... although it's usually a little more PG-13.

In last month's creative take on Taylor Swift's hit "We are Never Ever Getting Back Together" titled "Breaking Swift," Walt and Jesse insist (in lyrics, of course) that they are never ever ever gonna cock together. Like, ever.

"Breaking Bad" will return for its final eight episodes in summer 2013.

Oh, to be on the line when Mitt Romney phoned President Obama to concede the election.

We'll never know what was really said, but Jimmy Fallon offered a version of the call on Wednesday night's "Late Night" that will definitely suffice.

As far as we know, Obama actually answered the call with, "Is this your concession call or are you too busy watching Fox News?" before saying that Karl Rove looks like "Someone took a tire pump and inflated Larry David" and then discussed the theme song to "Dawson's Creek" with the former Governor.

Yep, that sounds about right.

Adorable 5-Year-Old Piano Prodigy Goes To 'Ellen'

This week, a 5-year-old Internet sensation named Tsung Tsung shut down the conspiracy theorists of YouTube with a live performance of the fast-paced Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov composition, "Flight Of The Bumblebee" on Ellen.

There were a few big differences between this, Tsung's U.S. television debut, and the viral video from the fall that introduced us to the Hong Kong talent. Tsung was noticeably less smiley than he was when we first fell in love. In fact, he was almost deadly serious, clad in a snazzy white tux instead of his usual pajamas. Luckily all his dramatic moves were still there, including a new closer he whipped out in which he throws his hands up "like a gymnast after a golden Olympic performance."

Check out the video below, which includes a brief, translated interview with Tsung, and let us know what you think of his talents in the comments.

Rihanna took modeling to a whole new level last night (Nov. 7) after performing at the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in NYC.

After making another stop on her tour, an exhausted RiRi kicked back and relaxed backstage after strutting her stuff at the Lexington Avenue Armory, where the runway show was held. Clad in only stockings and boots, the 24-year-old singer posed for the camera as she lounged on a leather couch.

"And that's a wrizzap," she tweeted along with the risque photo.

Throughout the night, Rihanna took to Twitter to share photos from the show, which featured other well-known musical guests , Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars.

As models like Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Erin Heatheron and Doutzen Kroes made their way down the catwalk wearing sexy lingierie, Rihanna, Bieber and Mars provided the tunes to make the event that much more exciting.

The show will air Dec. 4 on CBS.

Joey DeAngelis: 'AHS: Asylum': 'I Am Anne Frank, Part 1' In GIFs

$

The great thing about the first part of "American Horror Story: Asylum's" duel episodes titled "I Am Anne Frank" is that it wasn't an episode filled with in-your-face craziness, but rather it unraveled mysteries and dug deeper into some of the characters' pasts. "American Horror Story" can often border on -- if not completely cross the line -- into outlandishness. And when it does, it can either work in its favor or work against it. However, when it strays from absurdity and focuses on the characters, the show can do some really great things. (Here's looking at you, Sarah Paulson.)

"I Am Anne Frank, Part I" really focused on the battles between reality versus fantasy and insanity versus sanity. What's real and what isn't? Actuality appears to be in the eye of the beholder. Kit knew that he didn't kill his wife, Alma, but after being bombarded with accusation after accusation, he felt no choice but to start believing them. Anne Frank (or faux Anne Frank, depending on whichever side you fall on) believes she's Anne Frank, and that's her reality, even if no one around believes her. I, for one, think she actually is Anne Frank, just because she totally could be, and the evidence seems to make sense. Having her recognize Arden from her supposed stint at Auschwitz was a nice touch, and only adds to his ever-growing list of evildoings. And it also makes sense because I know the Nazis performed experiments on the prisoners there, and Arden could have continued those experiments at Briarcliff.

It's a good thing we can take the backwoods creatures off the supernaturals list, as they are just the result of Arden's inhumane experimentations. I'm not sure what he injects into them, but it creates boils and disfigurement and it seems pretty awful. His latest subject, Shelley, has already begun her transformation. Wow, what a rough end for Chloe Sevigny's character. Okay, well she's technically not dead yet, but a "special guest star" billing can only get you so far. Seeing Anne open the door to her on the floor, spouting "Kill me, kill me," filled me with equal parts sadness and disgust.

Speaking of sadness and disgust, let's go ahead and dive into Lana and her attempt at convergence into heterosexuality. At the time, homosexuality was considered a psychological disorder, and some thought it could be cured with intense therapy. Dr. Oliver Thredson (Quinto) tells Lana he doesn't think she's crazy and she's going to get out soon. But Lana knows that people think she's mentally ill due to her sexuality, and if she's not "cured," she won't be released. So she asks for treatment, and that means aversion/conversion therapy. First, she's pumped full of drugs that react negatively to her body, causing her to vomit as she looks upon pictures of women, including her partner, Wendy. Then, Thredson brings a patient into the room -- a young, attractive guy -- and asks him to disrobe. Lana then is told to touch herself while looking upon his member and then while touching it. It ends up not working, obviously.

Sarah Paulson, man. During this scene, sure, I was like, "This is awfully sad to watch," but Sarah Paulson delivered, I think, her best performance to date. My heart was completely torn in two for those four minutes. She could totally upstage Lange at the Emmys next year. Lana just wants so badly to get out of that damned asylum that she's willing to subject herself to this kind of torture, and you can see that conflicted determination all over Paulson's face.

Obviously the first part of "I Am Anne Frank" isn't the finest hour of "American Horror Story" and didn't really do much to propel the story forward, but damn if it wasn't entertaining. Most of the happenings in the episode could technically be confined to just this hour and never addressed again, but that's what's great about it. It unearthed some secrets, like Arden's supposed past as Nazi Hans Gruber, Grace's murderous history, and the origins of the backyard cannibals, but those are things that, while mildly fascinating, have no real impact into the entire season. But what really is the season-long arc? Lana, Grace, and Kit's escape? Getting Briarcliff shut down by exposing its various atrocities? Bloody Face? ALIENS? I don't even know, but I also don't care because I'm just happy to be here.

Extras

Grace officially revealed that she killed her father, stepmother, and stepsister. Did it make any difference? Of course not. At least Kit got killer sex before finding out (get it...killer? Because they're both accused of murder. I really am too much sometimes).

Lily Rabe only made two short appearances and that was not all right. At least she shot those sinister smiles that I love.

Joseph Fiennes' character is in cahoots with Arden and (yawn) that's exciting.

OK, in retrospect, the Holocaust storyline is probably a little too farfetched; but that's what makes it great, because it's farfetched while still retaining some sense of reality and possibility. Hey, at least it's not more alien abductions.

"American Horror Story: Asylum" airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
